What an unprecedented year this has been. This has truly been a Christmas like none other. For many people, travel plans had to be altered. For some, family traditions were put on hold to hopefully resume next year! Though that mean'ole COVID-19 tried it's best to cast a rain cloud over this season, it couldn't. Jesus is still Lord and he continues to reign supreme!
In our home, the tree and all of the decorations have come down. The abundance of wrapping paper and boxes have been loaded onto the Elf-150 and hauled off to the dump. The new toys have been neatly arranged in the play play room and my wife and I are staring at each other to see who gets the last piece of the amazingly delicious German Chocolate cake. Christmas 2020 has come to an end... or has it???
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." John 3:16 tell us that God so loved the world that He gave..." As for me and my house, Christmas is more than a day. Christmas is more than a season. Christmas for us is a LIFESTYLE!!! WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF GIVING!!! The Santa Titus belt is a symbol of just that.
In John 7:38 (KJV) Jesus tells those with listening ears that, "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water!" We are called to be rivers. Notice the detail given to this body of water. Rivers flow!!! Out of us should flow, empathy, love, grace, time, finances, and literally, everything that those we are called to need! WHAT??? Yep! We are anointed and appointed to supply everything that the people we are called to need. Now, before you continued, go back and read the last 3 sentences again slowly. This is what I'm saying. There are people who are praying to God for answers and the only hold up to their answered prayer is YOU and YOUR decision to obey the Spirit of Christ and meet that need! If you are called to meet that need, God is obligated to make sure the blessing FLOWS to you so it can FLOW through you.
Too many of us are trying to be ponds when God has called us to be rivers! Rivers flow ponds don't. Let me explain why you need to be a river. Mosquitoes can't breed in moving water! For those who are dead set on being a pond, the mosquitoes of life will continue to suck away that which you are supposed to be contributing to others, while those of us who are rivers never run dry! I said all of that to say this... "The Spirit of CHRISTmas should not stop just because December 25th, which isn't technically Jesus' birthday, is over! There are people hurting. There are people needing. There are people lacking and there are people praying to a God who intends to send their answers through you! I challenge you to join the movement to become "A CHAMPION" of giving. From December 26th, 2020 to and through December 24th, 2021 let us "PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS; here it is... FLOW!!!" Rivers flow and as you continue to give to those who need you the most, your blessings will flow like never before! Don't believe me? Even God himself said, "Prove me" in Malachi 3:10. God is recruiting in this season. He is recruiting those who will be "Champions of Giving." Government is good, but God is much bettER!
